    1. Hi Steve. Yes, I can provide a morning or afternoon fly fishing lesson. We can use my gear to get started since I know it will work. If you don’t have gear, maybe wait until we can talk about that and work it into a separate session since I can recommend gear based on your goals and anticipated use. This can save you a lot of money and heartache down the road.

If you live in the Champaign-Urbana (Illinois) area, we can meet at a local lake and start from there. I usually start with talking about the gear, then casting, and then straight to the water. We could start and finish with a few of my favorite knots that are universal to fly fishing. I charge $50 for an hour or two session on the water. It is better if we can find a warmer and less windy day since it is difficult to learn to cast in the wind and we want some bugs on the water.

      1. Andy, I live in Mahomet, so yes I am local. The two sessions at a lake would be great. Maybe one time in April and one in May? Would we be able to do one of the lakes in Mahomet, River Bend or Lake of the Woods?
