I am a champion because I take full responsibility for my successes and defeats. I know I gamble when I venture into anything. If I take a trail, it may lead to a dead end, it may lead me to peril, or it may lead me to wonders no other person has ever seen. It could lead to the greatest joy and fulfillment I’ve ever witnessed.
I am a champion because I don’t blame my parents for all that is wrong. I don’t blame my politics for ills of the nation. I don’t blame my sex or color for all the prejudice that prevails. I am my own person. I am unique. I am strong.
